Doesn't make sense at all and just ruins the entire documentary for me. He could just have easily built suspense without lying about "his leverage" and the timing of the interview. Very bizarre choice.

Can someone explain "fabricated the timeline" for me? I saw that the outfits from the last episode matched the ones they were wearing in earlier episodes that where they filmed outside Douglass' s building etc.... But how exactly is the timeline distorted? Many CA interviews (Bermans friends) were shot on one day yet peppered through out episodes... there was no dates flashed on screen....or is this more related to him giving footage to prosecutors in Roberts tresspassing case?

The way the final episode is presented, it appears that the events are: 1.letter is brought to light 2.attempts are made to schedule second interview 3.Durst cancels, is evasive, says no 4.Durst is arrested, needs Jarecki's help 5.They use this need as "leverage" 6.Second interview is set up because now Durst needs them.
In reality, the second interview takes place between events 3 & 4 as listed above.
